ControlLogix Maintenance and Troubleshooting Fundamentals (Level 1)


COURSE DESCRIPTION

This training begins with an introduction to the Logix 5000 Hardware, Software, addressing schemes and basic Ladder instructions. Following this introduction is a series of real world programming projects using processes such as conveyors systems and water tank filling processes. The participant's labs are designed to program and troubleshoot the equipment processes. Each participant will be challenged to solve hardware problems, software problems, communication conflicts, and other issues that arise when troubleshooting PLC related problems.

  • Configure Drivers using RSLinx

  • I/O Configurations, Addressing

  • Navigating through Studio 5000 Software

  • Ladder Diagram, Timer and Counter, Data Manipulation & Program Control

  • Trend Charts, Search, Cross Reference & Forcing

  • Program Editing

  • Troubleshooting: Hardware & Software with emphasis on finding root cause

  • Troubleshooting real world Hardware equipment

PROGRAM SOFTWARE

Training utilizes Rockwell Software Studio 5000 Logix Designer, Microsoft Windows.

PREREQUISITE

Working knowledge of AC/DC control devices, relay ladder logic, and Windows Operating System.

OBJECTIVES

Persons successfully completing this course will be able to:

  • Identify hardware components of a ControlLogix Programmable Controller System.

  • Navigate through the Logix Designer application

  • Configure I/O Modules

  • Download and go online

  • Locate I/O tags and devices

  • Use a programming terminal for entering, editing, and troubleshooting basic programs.

  • Isolate processor and I/O faults to the module level by interpreting status indicators.

  • Develop and troubleshoot programs using ladder instructions of the ControlLogix Programmable Controller.

  • Search for project components

  • Analyze and troubleshoot a system using a trend chart
