We can offer on-site Allen Bradley PLC training ranging from fundamentals to advanced programming. Participant’s cost will depend on class size and location.

We strive to associate the training with a real system, using a variety of sensor types and output types. Students in some training classes will utilize virtual industrial equipment to assist in the visualization of an actual industrial process.

  • COURSE DESCRIPTION

    This training begins with an introduction to the Logix 5000 Hardware, Software, addressing schemes and basic Ladder instructions. Following this introduction is a series of real world programming projects using processes such as conveyors systems and water tank filling processes. The participant's labs are designed to program and troubleshoot the equipment processes. Each participant will be challenged to solve hardware problems, software problems, communication conflicts, and other issues that arise when troubleshooting PLC related problems.

    PROGRAM SOFTWARE

    Training utilizes Rockwell Software Studio 5000 Logix Designer, Microsoft Windows.

    PREREQUISITE

    Working knowledge of AC/DC control devices, relay ladder logic, and Windows Operating System.

    This training program is designed to build competence around the troubleshooting and programming of Allen-Bradley ControlLogix Programmable Controller Systems. This course will provide students with a deeper understanding of the topics covered in the Fundamentals Level 1 class. Students will improve their troubleshooting skills by learning to program ladder logic projects using a variety of instruction types. The course will be a more thorough use of the common instructions used in ladder logic programming along with more advanced instruction and use of tasks and routines.

    THIS COURSE IS NOT INTENDED FOR BASIC LEVEL ENTRY STUDENTS WHO HAVE NOT ACQUIRED THE BACKGROUND OR TAKEN THE LEVEL 2 TRAINING CLASS.

    OBJECTIVES

    Persons successfully completing this course will be able to:

    • Troubleshoot programs utilizing all commonly used instructions of the ControlLogix Programmable Controller.

    • Utilize the diagnostic capabilities of the ControlLogix system to aid in systems troubleshooting.

    • Send messages through an Ethernet network.

    • Setup and configure Analog Input and Output cards for 0-10VDC and 4-20mA applications.

    • Setup BSL instructions for parts tracking and Setup FIFO/LIFO File instructions to track part numbers.

    • Understanding how recipes transfer data and settings

    • Create and test an AOI instruction.
